Goodbye to Marie

The ACDA wish to say a fond farewell to Marie. We would like to thank Marie for all her hard work and dedication in coaching the cheer and dance squads. We wish you the best of luck and look forward to seeing you at the cheer camp in August as well as at future competitions we may attend. Thanks for everything from everyone here at ACDA.

Our next registration starts 20th July 2009

Please read this message carefully as it contains VERY IMPORTANT INFO that covers the next few weeks and the start of our 2009-2010 season. 
  • The ACDA 2008-2009 groups will have their FINAL SESSIONS (unless otherwise specified by your coach) on the following dates: 
  • MONDAY 29 JUNE:  Urban, Seraphin, Shadows, Dark
  • TUESDAY 30 JUNE:  *Cherubs, Arc, Ascending, Fallen
  • WEDNESDAY 1 JULY: *Twinkles, Funky, Starlight
  • THURSDAY 2 JULY:  Xaphan, *Tabris, Guardian
  • * Cherubs, Twinkles and Tabris will have a session on Thursday, 16 July in preparation for their performance on 18 July.  Handouts will be given at training this week.

 

REGISTRATION AND INFO FOR 2009-2010 SEASON:
  • ARC, ASCENDING & FALLEN (Hip Hop Beginners):  These groups will run in 12-week sessions.  This means you attend 12 consecutive sessions, learning a short routine and techniques and then register again for the next 12 weeks.  A registration fee of £10 applies to each 12-Week Session.  Weekly subs are £4.  Dancers interested in moving into ACDA competitive dance groups may speak to their coach to find out how to move up.
  • ACDA Classes and teams will be limited to around 25 athletes per group.  Others will be put on a waiting list to be contacted if spaces open up.
  • Competitive Team £35 Registration fee must be paid no later than 17 September 2009.  If this fee is not paid, athletes may not participate and may lose their place on the team.
  • Small changes will be made to the ACDA Schedule:  Tabris will train ONLY on Thursdays 5:30-7pm, an All-Male Hip Hop Crew will train Wednesday's 6:30-7:30pm

  •     Thursday 23 July:        5pm-8pm     Xaphan, Tabris (jr cheer), Guardian 

ALL RETURNING AND NEW MEMBERS MUST FILL OUT NEW PAPERWORK FOR THE 2009-2010 SEASON.

Dear Dancer/ Parent

Revised rules and Code of Conduct for ACDA

Please find enclosed a new set of rules for the club, a Code of Conduct for Dancers, and a Code of Conduct for Parents.

As you know the club has grown enormously in the last year and with that the running of the club has become more complicated. We are trying to improve our systems for managing the club because we dont have any paid workers other than the few paid hours of coaching time that we can pay for.

We understand that getting certain aspects of our administrative systems up to scratch means that we can manage problems easier, and for this reason, we as a management committee have put new rules and Codes of Conduct into place. The Codes of Conduct are based on good practice from other clubs in USA, and we feel that they cover all the aspects of conduct and behaviour that we expect from dancers, coaches, volunteers and parents.

I would be grateful if you could sign the relevant Code of Conduct (one for you and one for your Parent/ Child) and return it to your coach without delay. We will require all parents and dancers of ALL squads to sign up to these rules and Codes Conducts, so if you have a problem with them, then please let us know, but this may mean that your involvement with the club cannot continue.
